Self-Esteem
and Assertion
Self-esteem
and assertion are essential to the enjoyment of life and relationships.
One’s self-esteem, as manifested in feelings, beliefs and
actions, relates directly to one’s sense of privilege and
entitlement. Self-esteem can also fluctuate or vary over time. A
persons’ self-esteem is a affected by gender issues; their
believes and life experiences; and, how they were parented. At any
point in time, your self-esteem is going to be affected by how you
are being loved, how successful you feel, and how well you are ~
both mentally and physically. Also, assertion and self-esteem cannot
be separated from how you manage conflict and how many of, and how
well, your needs are being met.
Fergus works
with individuals and couples within the context of the person’s
life to assist them in asserting their needs and feeling better
about themselves.
